Will you survive - and thrive - in this relentless world of quotas, skullduggery, and fragile bargains?
An industrial revolution has swept the land, and where Dwarven hands once gripped picks and shovels, now they wrestle with modern machinery. Collected into the service of factories, the workers' sweat and strength has been pooled to facilitate production lines at the command of the government - and the whim of bureaucracy.
Factory 42 is a worker-placement game with some semi-cooperative elements, in which each player directs a team of industrious Dwarves in service of the smooth running, and ever-increasing efficiency, of a factory production line. A multitude of raw materials are delivered each round, along with government contracts that need to be fulfilled. The Bureaucracy Tower interferes with the supply line, filtering out resources at random each turn, whilst commissars maneuver to keep the workforce optimized - and themselves well-placed to reap a bonus or two. Command you workers; exploit the efforts of other; upgrade your workshop and compete to create the finest wares in all the land.
